My fiance and I both got matching tattoos in June 2011 The work was amazing and the artist came up with a design that was incredible, the work is clean and quick and the price is right, I loved the piece that I got dont and the lettering is unlike anything I have seen before beautiful work and very professional! I will always go back!

On August 26th 2010, I had my custom tattoo done. I can't say enough how pleased I am with "ALL" the artist's there. I was in the shop a couple times before having my tattoo done. Everyone treated me with respect and answered all my questions. I looked through all of the artist's portfolio's and they are "ALL" tallented and did awesome work. I was also impressed on how well they kept things clean & sterile. (Being an ex phlebotomist you know what to look for). My artist did an awesome job with my new tatt. I had a great experience that day...... that will last a lifetime. Getting a tattoo is just as meaningful as wearing it!! Going in for a tattoo there was amazing. The group of people that work there are hilarious, and do wonderful work, their ability to do fantastic detail is astounding. Renee was so sweet, and Mannie (who did a tattoo on a friend of mine) was able to do a tiny star about a centimeter big and make it look good. I would recommend anyone, new or old, to go there.

When you want the best, you go where the experience is. Renee, the owner of Hot Rod Betties is the best artist I have ever had the pleasure to be inked by. I have been lucky and come across a couple very good artist's in my search for my next tattoo, but Renee is hands down the best in the northwest. She will be doing more on me for sure.

Went into this shop to look at portfolios. definitely a must for a high quality tattoo! My husband and I are looking for a local artist. I currently travel to Seattle for work on my sleeve and the fuel and taxes add quite a bit onto the cost. The man (artist) at the desk was very rude and had quite a "rock-star" attitude toward the questions we were asking about the various artists and their particular styles. Our tat's were covered up and he spoke to us like we were idiots. Most of the portfolio pictures were of poor quality and looked old, so there was no way to have confidence in most of the artists skill. Some were better then others though. We asked who specialized in portraits and he got irritated saying that they all did and got scolded for the question. When an artist likes doing a particular style of work, they will present that type of work in their portfolio. Compared to other shops, this one seemed dirty. Some tattooists under estimate the power of being nice.

Not only was Kai's artistry and technique impeccable, but his attention to detail and customer service was outstanding as well. He made the experience one that will be and is a fond memory for a long time. If you've got a tattoo or piercing in mind I would definitely suggest visiting Kai and the rest of the staff at Hot Rod Bettie's Tattoo. The shop was a clean, safe environment but most of all it was an all around good time.
