I went to Jaho with a friend on May 20th, we were sightseeing in Salem and hadn't had anything except McDeath from Boston's North Station all day. On our way to the House of the Seven Gables, we passed Jaho and noticed the sign for 'Gelati' and decided to return there for food once we'd seen the House. We weren't at all disappointed for the decision. We had sandwiches and ice-cream, and both were quite excellent. The service is very good and very quick, and the staff is soft-spoken yet quite friendly. Seating is varied but comfortable--regular coffeehouse chairs or cushy armchairs that you want to take a nap in. I didn't get a chance to try the coffee, but I hope to do so next time I visit Salem. They're on Derby Street--go see them when you're in town!
Jaho Coffee & Tea Shop perhaps one of the best new additions to Pickering Wharf in Salem. I can only hope that it is here to stay! They offer a wonderful selection of desserts and specialty Sandwiches, Soups, Teas and Coffee's, Latte's, Cappuccino's etc. The ambiance is particularly nice. There is a very comfortable, warm, welcoming and relaxing feel to this quiant little shop, It's a great place to end an evening out or to go to - to just read, study or quiety chat w/ a friend over your choice of anything on the menu. Be sure to check out their great selection of very tasty Gelato. I highly recommend JAHO Coffee & Tea - it has quickly become one of my favorite places in Salem and on the North Shore in general!
I used to be a Starbucks snob but since Jaho opened up a few months ago you wont see me getting my coffee anywhere else. They have by far the best interior of any coffeeshop I`ve seen, awesome coffee, gelato and an amazing chicken salad sandwich. Staff is wicked friendly too!
I moved to Salem from Cambridge,Ma in September of this year. Terrified that tI would not be able to get a good cup of coffee let alone my personalized drink I have had made for me at my local cafe in the city. Not only did Jaho come through on an amazing cup of coffee, they make my personalized drink and I just came from Jaho where as soon as I walked in the door before I could even order my drink was waiting at the register for me! That is what I call the best service one could get and give! This coffee shop is #1 in my book and I have lived all around the world from Hawaii to Denmark. Thanks Jaho
