Based in Salem, Mass., Crystal Systems is an independent company that manufactures and markets materials for optical, laser and solar applications for worldwide markets. Crystal Systems is a producer of large-size sapphire crystals for optic and electronic applications, Ti:sapphire for laser applications and silicon for photovoltaic. Established in 1961, it has more than 30,000 square feet of space with manufacturing, processing and fabrication facilities. The company also has a separate research and development facility, with clean room and testing facilities, that processes materials for high technology commercial applications. It also produces laser rods by heat exchanger method. Crystal Systems provides products for various applications, including space, military and environmental optical systems, substrates, precision bearings, nozzles, acoustic rods, laser windows and jewels.
