As the oldest independent day school in Florida, Shorecrest has provided the consummate college preparatory experience to students since 1923. Located in St. Petersburg, Shorecrest Preparatory School is an independent, nonsectarian, coed college preparatory day school that has an enrollment of approximately 975 students from Preschool (age 3) through Grade 12. It offers college preparatory programs in more than 20 subjects, including math, science, English, foreign language, literature, social studies, ethics and health. Additionally, the school offers a fine arts program that includes musical theatre, playwriting, music, studio art, photography, computer graphics and digital film. The "Chargers" athletic program offers 49 competitive athletic teams for Middle School, Jr. Varsity and Varsity including cross country, football, golf, sailing, baseball, basketball, swimming, volleyball, soccer and tennis. The school has a college counseling department that creates individual plans for each student beginning sophomore year. Students in grades 5-12 are in a 1:1 iPad program.
