He served on the Board of the FICPA Education Trust, chaired the University of Florida Graduate Accounting Conference, and the Florida Board of Accountancy Committee on Continuing Professional Education. Buddy was also a member of the Rotary Club of St. Petersburg and he served as a member of the Urban Solutions Task Force of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. He served as a board member of the Suncoast Center for Community Mental Health, was a member of the Suncoasters of St. Petersburg, was President of the Family Service Center of Pinellas County, and he was a longtime member of the Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) at Faith Covenant Church.
