Southview Elementary School is a part of Independent School District 196, which operates elementary, middle and high schools. Established in 1968, Southview Elementary School serves more than 700 students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. The school supports a variety of extracurricular programs in art, music, media studies and physical education. Southview Elementary School operates several student organizations, such as a student council, band, and spelling bee and peer mediation teams. In addition, it offers the English Language Learners program and gifted and talented education. The school provides medical care, reading recovery and guidance and counseling services to students. Southview Elementary School is located in Apple Valley, Minn.
