The School of Environmental Studies, a part of Independent School District 196, is an optional choice high school located in Apple Valley, Minn. Also known as SES, it has been serving students since 1994. The institution conducts academic learning sessions in various subjects, such as language arts, environmental sciences and social studies. The School of Environmental Studies also offers instruction in chemistry, mathematics, media studies, photography, physics, and arts and crafts. It features a special online section for parents, as well as participates in Socratic seminars. The institution features overnight camping activities and celebrates Earth Day. The School of Environmental Studies enrolls children in grades 11 and 12. In addition, it publishes newsletters and conducts sessions in local pond ecology.
