General Info
SERVICES History of River of Goods It all started in 1987 with Terry and Margie Commerford and a van. Not exactly the buttoned-up, office-going type, Terry and Margie put their street smarts to work and began selling a variety of things on street corners in downtown Minneapolis from the back of their van. As you might have guessed, they had a knack for it. They brought together their love for traveling the world and their uncanny ability to find and sell remarkable products that people wanted and started a business. Soon, they had opened more than 200 temporary retail locations across the nation, selling the interesting furniture and home decor goods they found on their travels. In 2000, their journey then brought them to the TV-shopping industry, where they had the opportunity to sell Tiffany-inspired lighting products direct to the public. The genuine, passionate sales pitch that made Terry and Margie successful on the street corners of Minneapolis was being broadcast across the nation to rave reviews. Margie quickly developed a following of loyal viewers and customers, which continues to grow to this day. Their mission was simple: selling unique products at a great price with a compelling story. River of Goods was also founded in the year 2000 primarily to serve the home shopping networks. Since then, our customer base has grown to include catalogs, e-commerce sites and specialty stores. The passion that started with River of Goods then is still the driving force behind our company's success today. We are a company of people who love working with products and who love the excitement of coming up with the next great idea. Our buyers continue to travel and shop around the world looking for inspiration from the beautiful things they see and the stories they discover.
