The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) supports the economic success of individuals, businesses and communities by improving opportunities for growth in the state of Minnesota. The department offers programs that promote business recruitment, expansion and retention. Its Business and Community Development Division provides a variety of financial and technical services for businesses, communities and economic development professionals. DEED s Workforce Development Division works with local and statewide partners to offer training and support for unemployed and dislocated workers. The division also provides financial assistance for businesses seeking to upgrade the skills of their workforce. The department s Unemployment Insurance Division offers a temporary partial wage replacement solution for unemployed workers. DEED additionally operates a Communications, Analysis and Research Division.
