I recently made a hash of altering my daughter's prom dress myself and was panicking as we are one week away from the date. After seeing some good reviews on other online sources I thought I would provide one on Yelp!Michelle Ly's business is tucked away in a local strip mall, in which I've found some great local businesses, and it's on a main road and near a main Twin Cities freeway intersection, so easy to find. There is good parking.Michelle has a tidy storefront with beautiful handmade fabric flower decorations that can be hung on a wall, or used on a table, I plan on buying a few in different colors to show off my collection of teapots. Michelle is very friendly and understanding of what you want, marking down exactly what will be done at what price, we decided due to budget reasons to get the front of the dress fixed this week, but come back after the Prom for more alterations and also have my daughter's Graduation dress altered at the same time. (my daughters dresses are vintage swing/dance styles, so she knows she is going to wear them again)There is a changing room beside a nice carpeted raised platform in front of a large floor to ceiling three-way mirror where Michelle has you stand to pin where alterations will be made to your clothes. The workshop is behind a curtain in the back of the shop.Today is a Saturday, and Michelle will have the repairs complete on Thursday, plenty of time for the Prom, this was the fastest anyone could do the repair in town during the busy Prom season.Michelle is continuing to remodel her space, and she will soon have a sign up that lists all her services, along with tailoring and alterations and making fabric art for sale she does dry cleaning!So I can see us coming back many times! I've gone here several times. Michelle is friendly and has you try on the garment you want altered. I had two different dresses for important events that she altered perfectly. What was especially nice is she said to bring them back if their were any problems with them at no charge. She appreciates her customers.
