The Minnesota Department of Health, also known as MDH, offers treatment services to patients with cancer, diabetes, AIDS, arthritis and asthma. It administers community-based health promotion programs and educational activities. The department maintains public health laboratory and environmental health divisions. The Minnesota Department of Health operates a food safety center and injury and violence prevention unit. It also maintains an office of emergency preparedness, as well as conducts supplemental nutrition programs. The department has a compliance monitoring division, as well as provides birth and death registration services.
