The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, also known as BCA, works for the protection of the residents of the state of Minnesota. The bureau s forensic science laboratory has been in operation for more than 55 years and covers an area of over 325 square feet. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension offers a range of law enforcement services and maintains a crime scene team. The bureau operates Missing Children s Clearing House and Minnesota Crime and Amber Alert programs. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension maintains an operations center and predatory offender unit. It conducts criminal investigations. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is a part of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
