Highland Bancshares, which is chartered in St. Michael, Minn., is the bank holding company for Highland Bank. The company is the result of the 1995 merger of two banks that were chartered in the 1940s and have been owned by the Wall family since the mid-1970s. Security Bank Northwest, with offices in St. Michael, Albertville and Maple Grove, Minn., merged with Highland Bank, which had offices in St. Paul and Bloomington, Minn. Since the merger, Highland Bank has added offices in downtown Minneapolis and at The Mall of America. Through its eight community banks and its operations center in Bloomington, Highland Bank serves the financial needs of businesses and their employees and consumers throughout the Twin Cities.
