Established in 1977, Kids In the Middle is a nonprofit organization that provides counseling, education and support for children and families. Located in Kirkwood, Mo., the organization offers training for mental health providers who want to specialize in working with families in transition. It provides services to strengthen family relationships by providing affordable therapies and education and support. Kids In the Middle offers opportunities for parents to participate in short-term individual sessions. The organization supports co-parenting therapies that are designed for separated and divorced parents who experience conflicts and have difficulty with interpersonal communication. It also supports the School Outreach Counseling Program, which offers a variety of school-based services.
