General Info

I knew I wanted to be an internal medicine physician, but wasn?t sure which subspecialty. After the end of my first week doing endocrinology during my rotation, I knew I wanted to do this until the end of my life. Diabetes is tricky. It doesn?t say, ?Oh, this hurts here?, telling you there?s a problem. It creeps up on you. You don't feel anything initially. You have to monitor for it. And that's where the diagnostic skill of the primary care physician comes in. Eventually, it manifests as malaise, weight loss, excessive thirst, urination, but those appear later. It?s up to us to catch it before it?s symptomatic and arrest progression. We?ve made many technological advances in monitoring and addressing diabetes, and in using immunology and mediated treatments to treat endocrinological diseases. This may anticipate a cure, which will make life so much easier for our patients. I'm a good listener and I?m here to help them feel and live better.
