- GlaucomaDilation allows your doctor to monitor the health of the back of your eyes. Â This is typically done during a comprehensive examination and may be need to be done more frequently to check for conditions such as diabetes, macular degeneration, glaucoma, or to better evaluate symptoms such as flashing lights or floaters in your vision. Â We are happy to offer sunglasses at check-out and encourage you to have transportation arranged if you do not feel comfortable driving with your eyes dilated.

Â LASIK, cataract, corneal transplantation, and retinal repair surgeries are done at an outpatient surgery center.

It is an essential part of an eye examination and necessary to provide you with an updated prescription. It is NOT a covered service by Medicare or most insurance plans.
