Organized in 1845, St. Augustine Fire Department responds to emergency situations and provides a range of medical services. The department protects the lives and properties of residents. In addition, it offers code enforcement, disaster preparedness, and confined space and water rescue solutions. St. Augustine Fire Department administers a self inspection program for offices, small businesses and stores. The department is responsible for conducting surveys in commercial buildings and reviewing construction plans. It protects more than 13,000 residents and provides fire safety education and tips. St. Augustine Fire Department is a part of the government of the City of St. Augustine in Florida.
