Saginaw Charter Township administers various departments, such community, fire, parks and recreation, police and public services. Its community development department provides services to its residents and business community. Its services include issuing of building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits, and conducting inspections, code enforcement, general planning and development approvals. The township offers its residents a variety of parks and recreation facilities, including George Olson Recreation Complex, Harvey Randall Wickes, Saginaw Township Playscape, West Michigan Park and Leonard Boers III Riverfront. Saginaw Charter Township s waste management program serves all single-family and duplex structures with curbside collection of trash, recyclables and yard waste. It is a member of the Mid-Michigan Waste Authority, a public consortium of more than 30 municipalities that provides residential waste collection disposal and processing services.
