- Family PracticeDr. Alvin Sockolov was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. He received a BS in Physiology from UC Davis prior to pursuing an MD at UCLA. Dr. Alvin then returned to Davis to complete his residency at UC Davis. He has been serving the Sacramento area since receiving his board certification in 1983. In addition to being an active family practice staff member at both Mercy General Hospital and Sutter Community Hospitals, Dr. Alvin is a principal investigator for Sockolov Medical Research, participating in studies related to hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, arthritis, migraines, and infected wounds, among others.
- Emergency Care
- ColonoscopyThis visit is centered around the physical examination, head to toe. For a woman, it may include a breast examination, pelvic examination and Pap smear (unless these are up to date or done elsewhere). For a man, it may include a rectal examination of the prostate (ask during your appointment if it is right for you). We will also try to update your medical history (family history, surgeries, medications, etc.). If you are due for screening examinations (e.g. colonoscopy, mammogram) or vaccines, we will order them.
- Internal MedicineDr. Ingvild Lane attended Stanford University where she received a BA with Distinction and Departmental Honors in psychology and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Lane attended medical school at UCLA where she was awarded several awards including: Stafford L. Warren Medal as the top graduate of the medical class, the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial award as the top graduating woman, the American College of Physicians award for top graduating student, the UCLA Alumni Distinguished Scholar award and served as co- president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She attended the University of Washington for internal medicine residency and chief residency and also received the Educator of the year award at Swedish Medical Center-Providence Campus. Dr. Lane was board certified in internal medicine in 2001 and has served the community in internal medicine since that time with a focus on best practices evidence based medicine combined with compassionate patient and family centered care. From 2007 to 2010, she was awarded Best Doctors in America. In her spare time, Dr. Lane loves to spend time with her 2 daughters and enjoy the outdoors with her 2 dogs.
- Diabetes Care
- Sports MedicineOur office offers Sports Physicals. Athletes do not need an appointment, we are available Monday through Thursday and athletes need to be here at 4:00pm. to complete the sports physical form. We are aware that the schools give out a form but we have a more comprehensive one. We will send a copy of our form with the athlete to return to the school.
