Founded in 1964, the River City Recovery Center offers care and treatment services to individuals suffering from substance abuse. It provides an intensive primary care residential treatment program. The center maintains detoxification facilities, as well as employs counselors and teachers. It also provides educational programs that focus on the physical, psychological, social and spiritual effects of alcoholism and chemical dependency. The center offer s a curriculum that includes medical implications of substance abuse, emotional recovery, relapse prevention, anger management, family aspects and goal setting. In addition, it provides cognitive behavior therapies and group and individual counseling services. The River City Recovery Center is located in Sacramento, Calif.
