Founded in 1896, Rutland Regional Medical Center has grown from a 10-bed hospital with eight attending physicians into Vermont's second largest health care facility. RRMC has 188 licensed beds and more than 120 physicians trained in 35 specialty areas. Providing preventive, diagnostic, acute and rehabilitative services, RRMC serves Rutland County, portions of southern and central Vermont and communities in eastern New York State. Its medical staff is supported by nursing, diagnostic and ancillary services and an array of equipment, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging, a top-of-the-line linear accelerator, used in the treatment of cancer patients and a diagnostic Cardiovascular and Angiographic Lab. RRMC is the nucleus of Rutland Regional Health Services, a collaborative system of health care providers offering education, primary care, inpatient and outpatient acute care, rehabilitation and assisted living housing. RRMC offers a Community Cancer Center Rehabilitation Center, Sleep Center, Dialysis Unit and a 24-hour Emergency Department.
