Royston Animal Hospital, Inc ( RAH ) was formed in 1983 by Dr. Doris Cato, Dr. Kenneth Cato and Dr. Bruce Bowen, all graduates of UGA. Each Doctor was skilled at large and small animal medicine, as well as technician, kennel hand and receptionist! Five years later in 1988 Candy Atkinson joined the RAH family, many of you know her as the "Farm Desk" or "Large Animal." She is also essential to our Animal Hospital as our Practice Manager. In 1990 Dr. Wanda Ray Thompson joined RAH. She received her Veterinary degree from UGA. She along with Drs. Cato and Dr. Bowen are the owners of RAH. In September of 2007 after outgrowing our office at 2888 W. Main, we moved into our new 7000 Sq. ft. building in the same location. Our new facility has given us the opportunity to better serve the community. Our Associate doctors: Dr. Laura Yetzina graduated from UGA her interests are in large and small veterinary medicine. Dr. Jaime Terry joined our staff after graduating from Louisiana State University and concentrates on small animal medicine. Dr. Siomara ( SIO ) Acevedo and Dr. Jennifer Peterson both graduated from UGA and practice both large and small animal medicine. Our practice has 8 doctors with 115 combined total years of experience. Our Receptionists: Yvonne Smith is our Reception Manager, she keeps the front office running smoothly. Everyone knows Therese she has been helping our clients with a smile for over 10 years. Vickie also brings excellent customer service experience to RAH. Hannah is with us on weekends to help out while furthering her education. Doris is our Customer assistant; she helps you in and out with your pets and foods. She has been with us since 1988. Our Groomers: Marcy, our groomer, has been with RAH for 3 years, and has 5 years of grooming experience. Marcy is very gentle with her patients and enjoy talking to and loving them while grooming. Our Veterinary Assistants & Technicians: Blonca joined RAH when she was just 16 years old and now that she is. oops, well lets just say she's no spring chicken, she is our Senior Room Veterinary Assistant. Many of you have met "Winnie" her weenie dog that follows her around all day. Rita joins Blonca and brings many years of technical experience with her. Jessica Rice is our Apprenticeship student from Madison County who does an excellent job while learning the ropes. Tracy and Jenna Assist the Veterinarians also in room and do routine blood work when needed. They all love what they do and love working with animals. Our Surgical Team: Bree, who has 10 years of Veterinary Assistant experience, and Charlotte who is a certified Veterinary Technician join her as surgical technicians in "the back". Our Inventory Manager: Lisa joined RAH in 2006 and is working diligently on losing her New York accent! She keeps us in supplies and watches our bottom dollar. Our Kennel Staff: We have a beautiful boarding facility and hope you will take a tour. Renee is our senior Kennel attendant and has been with RAH for 4 years. Her calm & gentle mannerism has an especially positive effect on our boarders. She is joined by Kelly, Marisa, Rose, and Scout. They all have a passion for animals and enjoy playing with, feeding, bathing, loving and caring for their boarding friends while with us. Our Large Animal Veterinary Assistant: BJ started out in the kennel. From time to time he would assist a Dr. on a difficult farm call. After a while BJ learned so much about large animal medicine that he has become indispensable to the large animal Veterinarian
