Hugely fraustrated. My family member stayed here for a few years. She died two and a half weeks ago. The jewelry was taken from my family member, the jewelry she was wearing when she died. She wanted to be buried in it. That has not happened. In fact I've called 6 times and have yet to be called back by any director or manager. We also never got her glasses or haring aids or dentures. All these items should have been with her for her wake. I called and called they just say sorry we don't have it. That is not good enough for a grieving family. I was told today to expect a call next week. That will make it three weeks after the death that I will hopefully get my first response to where her stuff is? Why she could not be dressed properly for her wake because of this, and why we have been treated like this just isn't a big deal. I assure you, having to go 2-3 weeks being fraustrated at this result....and just wanting a simple explanation or response...well I am blown away at how this has gone down. I am hugely disappointed in how seaview has handled the death of my family member. I don't think it would be possible to make our family feel more like this facility simply does not even pretend to care that the end of life procedure for a loved one. Stealing her jewelry. Not providing her glasses, dentures, hearing aids for wake and burial, well I just don't understand how that can happen. I guess we will just wait another fraustrating week to hopefully get our first answer from the director. Way to step up and take responsibility sea view. Absolutely I would consider going elsewhere in hindsight with a loved one. The way in which they treated my family member like her death didn't matter, and her items were inconsequential, I found severely insulting. The jewlery was not expensive, but it was hers. Given to her out of love. Now, most likely in an employees car. But who knows, they have still yet to even call back. "He will get back to you maybe beginning of next week". Great. Thanks for treating her like she mattered. A potential call back three weeks after her death. Consider our experience when picking a spot for your loved one.
