Ms. Khoo has also negotiated leases and closed several commercial real estate purchases and sales involving large institutional investors, as well as counseled clients on matters of corporate governance, shareholder agreements and disputes, stock and asset purchases, and vendor and supply relationships and agreements.

• Wrongful Termination
  Chang & Coté’s employment and labor practice covers a wide spectrum of employment-related matters including personnel policies, retaliation, wrongful termination, employment agreements, unfair competition, and trade secrets. Our attorneys have litigated on behalf of employers on issues such as wage and hour, harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination, and represented management in class actions and representative actions brought under the Private Attorney General Act (PAGA). Chang & Coté also represents clients in administrative proceedings before California and Federal Department of Labor, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, Division of Workers’ Compensation, and Employment Development Department.

She has represented clients at both the trial and appellate levels and in federal and state venues.

  He often serves as outside counsel for many local and international businesses to ensure legal compliance as well as help businesses resolve complex legal disputes.  Mr. Lai counsels employers on California employment laws, assists clients with resolving employment disputes, and provides general counsel and advice to employers in all aspects of state and federal employment law compliance.

• Construction Litigation
  Mr. Bell’s career as a litigator spans more than twenty years. Much of that time was spent handling high-stakes commercial litigation at large international law firms. During this period Mr. Bell successfully litigated cases to verdict in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative hearings and commercial arbitrations. He has substantial appellate experience as well, with a number of published California Court of Appeal cases to his credit as well as an impressive roster of unpublished decisions. Mr. Bell’s range of experience is unusual in its breadth. In the time he has devoted to the practice of law, Mr. Bell has demonstrated his strategic and managerial abilities in such diverse matters as trade secret and employment law, construction disputes, litigation pertaining to banking and lending, real estate claims, unfair competition challenges, vendor-supplier disputes and trans-national claims. He has earned a reputation for judgment, thoroughness and his ability to fashion the often confusing and contradictory evidentiary strands of a claim into a story that is both understandable and compelling.
