Roselle Savings Bank is a state chartered, mutual savings bank. The main office is located in Roselle, New Jersey, with branch offices located in Bernardsville, Cranford, and High Bridge, New Jersey.The Bank was incorporated and officially established on the Twenty-fifth day of May, 1889, when fifteen Roselle residents, as members of the Roselle Building Loan and Savings Association, adopted the Articles of Incorporation of the Roselle Building and Loan Association.On the twenty-second day of June, 1889, the Board of Directors of the Roselle Building and Loan Association, unanimously adopted the Constitution and By-Laws of the Roselle Building and Loan Association, setting forth its mission in Article II, as follows:Object: The object of this Association shall be to accumulate by cooperation a fund to be loaned to its members for the purchase of real-estate, the erection of buildings, making improvements on land or paying off incumbrances thereon, within the County of Union, and for the further purpose of accumulating a fund to be returned to its members who do not obtain loans. Those fifteen founding members had an objective and a vision. In their wisdom and foresight, as so simply stated in Article II of the Constitution and By-Laws, they established the basic premise that has guided the operations of the Roselle Savings Bank, and its predecessors, the Roselle Savings and Loan Association, and the Roselle Building and Loan Association, throughout the years.As one of New Jersey's oldest financial institutions, Roselle Savings Bank has endured and even thrived through some very challenging periods in our country's history, including World War I, World War II, the Great Depression, and the banking crisis of the 1980's, when a record number of banks failed. Through the years, Roselle Savings Bank has grown to serve residents not only in Union County, but also in Hunterdon, Somerset, Essex, Middlesex, Morris, and Warren counties.
