General Info
Dr. Michael Allen was born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Clackamas County. Upon graduating from Clackamas High School, he continued his education at Brigham Young University. After one year of college, he interrupted his studies for a two-year church mission in southeast Germany. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from BYU, he went on to receive a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa in 2004. From Iowa, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he graduated with a Certificate in Endodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2006. As a certified dental specialist in endodontics, Dr. Allen’s specialty services include diagnostics, root canals, endodontic retreatments, root surgeries and additional procedures designed to prevent or eliminate tooth infection. Utilizing the most advanced and current techniques and technology available, Dr. Allen’s was the first dental practice in Roseburg to have a Computerized Cone Beam Tomography unit for the jaws, improving diagnostic capability and more predictable treatment outcomes. Dr. Allen has published research in each of the three universities he attended, routinely lectures at local dental societies, and has enjoyed dental missions to impoverished areas in South and Central America. His most significant achievement to date is his marriage to his wife, Anna, in 1998. They have eight children. The Allens have been immersed in the community, participating in sports, music, scouts and many other activities since moving to Roseburg in 2006. Dr. Allen enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and refereeing football in Douglas County. He is also very actively involved in his church. Dr. Allen belongs to the following dental organizations: The American Association of Endodontics The American Dental Association The Oregon Dental Association The Umpqua Dental Society The Oregon State Endodontic Society

Dr. Allen and his staff was absolutely amazing. From the helpful front desk staff to the dental assistants who made me feel at ease for my very first root canal, to Dr. Allen who was so professional and had me in and out in no time. I would trust anyone but Dr. Allen to do my root canals after this visit.

bedside manner could be improved, maybe he just forgot to introduce himself to me but just got straight to working on me. didnt address that i was having terrible anxiety as a fellow healthcare worker perhaps some sensitivity training on patients who do have anxiety as is common in the dental industry. staff was competent and pleasant.

Having my root canal done was so easy! It wasnt any different than getting a filling (took only a few more minutes! No kidding guys! The root canal portion took only 30 minutes!!! Usually if I'm having a root canal done, it takes 2+hrs at my generals office. Dr. Allen is gentle and very quick at what he does. My overall experience was amazing. I dont want anyone else to do my root canals!

I have extreme sensory issues and it was the most comfortable I have ever been in a dentist's chair. There is genuine listening, communication, and knowledge of a high professional level of what Dr. Allen is doing. I noticed a solid communication between all of the other staff, them all working as a very effective team.
I always have a fear of getting dental work done, but I have never had a bad experience here! Dr. Allen is very thorough and good at his work! His staff are all very knowledgeable and kind as well! I always love the experience I have here!!
