For more than 30 years Nash Health Care Systems has operated a nonprofit medical services network that comprises four hospitals: Nash General Hospital, Nash Day Hospital, Coastal Plain Hospital and the Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center. Together the hospitals serve residents of Nash, Edgecombe, Franklin, Warren, Halifax, Wilson and Johnson counties in northeastern North Carolina. The more than 170 physicians who are part of the system specialize in anesthesiology, cardiology, dermatology, dentistry, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiology, surgery and a number of other fields. Nash Health Care Systems has headquarters in Rocky Mount, N.C. It is county-owned and operated and is governed by a 16-member board. Each of the system s hospitals is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
