- Pain ManagementCatzablanca uses our Class 3B & Class 4 cold laser therapy to speed your cat’s body’s healing time post surgery and decrease pain and inflammation from surgery and many disease processes. This is a perfect non-invasive tool to provide your cat with pain relief, boosting your cat’s ability to heal. Cold laser therapy can take seconds to minutes depending on the area being treated; most cats enjoy this purring during the therapy session. During the laser therapy session non-thermal photons of light are emitted from the laser supporting the recovery and reconnection of nerve cells, speeding the restoration of the tissues, increasing vascular activity to promote healing. In cats we use our laser not only post surgically but in cases of arthritis, stomatitis, sterile cystitis, wound, bone and nerve healing.

- Veterinary SurgeryCatzablanca Cat Clinic and Hospital was founded by Dr. DuPont in 1990 when the idea of a separate medical and surgical facility just for cats was brand new. After graduation from veterinary college Dr. DuPont practiced emergency medicine as well as general small animal medicine and surgery. She soon realized that cats were unique creatures and that there was a need to separate their medical and surgical care from the mainstream small animal care, which focused mainly on the dog.

- Small Animal VetDr. DuPont graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. She practiced as a general small animal veterinarian and emergency doctor until starting Catzablanca Cat Clinic and Hospital in 1990. The hospital was inspired by her realization that cats are unique creatures with completely different health concerns and needs than other species. She also wanted to establish a place where each client and patient could be attended to as an individual, allowing the proper amount of time for clients to ask questions and fully understand their cat’s health care needs.
