I have not written a negative review before, but I had to express my deep concerns about my visit to Ellen's. After spending a few hours at the fantastic Rockport fall festival, my wife and I decided to go to Ellen's for dinner. It was late afternoon, only a few folks in the back room.. We decided to have a couple of drinks prior to our dinner. I ordered another beer and I was quickly informed by the manager that I needed to order food before we could have another drink. Also I was rudely told by the "manager" that my wife needed to our move our chairs. We had moved our chairs to look at the views. Only six other people were in the restaurant at that time. We ordered two cups of chowder, payed our bill and left with an extremely bad experience. We left and went to the Seaport Grill in Gloucester and had two wonderful lobsters, drinks and desert. Too bad it wasn't at Ellen's. Rockport was a fantastic experience, this restaurant wasn't part of it!
