Sweetser is a behavioral health care organization for children, adults and families. It serves people with emotional disturbances, mental illnesses, behavioral disorders and learning disabilities. The organization provides educational programs and preventive, community support and outpatient services. Sweetser operates a training institute, recovery center, counseling offices, schools for students with special needs, more than 20 residences and campuses in Belfast, Plymouth and Saco counties in Maine. Its child and family community-based services include mental health treatment and support to children and adolescents to improve their school functioning. The organization additionally offers individual, family, marital and group psychotherapy services.
