- Colonoscopy“Dr. Cooper and all his staff were great! I was very nervous before having these procedures (colonoscopy and EDG), especially for the first time, but Dr. Cooper himself took the time to answer all my questions and explain the procedures, which helped a lot. I was very happy with the experience.”

- Colon CancerDuring this procedure, a colonoscope (a thin, flexible tube with a camera and light on the end) is guided up the rectum and the colon under sedation. This is used to perform a thorough examination of the inside of the entire colon. We can remove colon polyps and/or take biopsies to diagnose any abnormalities. Of any form of colorectal cancer screening, colonoscopy has the best sensitivity for finding colon polyps and can prevent colon cancer by removing those precancerous polyps during the procedure. For an optimal exam, the colon must be cleaned out with a colon prep before the procedure. In addition to colorectal cancer screening, we use colonoscopy to diagnose colonic disorders such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease and microscopic colitis, and also to look for causes of rectal bleeding.
- EndoscopyThe Registered Nurse contributes to the company’s mission and supports the company’s values by providing safe, effective patient care during both the pre and post-operative period, in accordance with applicable standards of practice. Working independently, they will admit and educate patients for each procedure, set up procedure rooms, assist the treating physician with all endoscopy procedures, and recovery of patients post-procedure. The RN will be responsible for monitoring vitals and providing discharge information and reports as necessary.
- UltrasoundEndoscopic ultrasound (EUS) allows your doctor to examine your esophageal and stomach linings, as well as the walls of your upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. The upper tract consists of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum; the lower tract includes your colon and rectum. EUS is also used to study other organs that are near the gastrointestinal tract, including the lungs, liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
- MRI“Drove to Casper, Wyoming (380-mile round trip) to see Dr. Katz and it was well worth it. He probably saved my life! He suggested an MRI and then a PT scan. The result was a diagnosis of Endometrial Cancer Stage 4. He personally called us as did his staff for follow-up. He was very caring, conscientious and professional.”

- LesionsRecent studies have concluded that a fully trained gastroenterologist is more likely to detect adenomas (precancerous lesions) and remove them before they turn into cancer. Studies also show that they are much more likely to adhere to the frequency for follow-up colonoscopies stated by national guidelines, and much less likely to bring patients back too soon for follow-up procedures.
