Monroe Plan for Medical Care, founded in 1970, is a health care professional organized and governed nonprofit managed care organization of more than 4,500 health care providers. The plan provides health care services for low-income residents in Monroe County in New York and neighboring rural counties. Located in Rochester, N.Y., Monroe Plan for Medical Care has partnership with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. It manages several publicly sponsored programs, including Blue Choice Option, Child Health Plus and Family Health Plus. The plan offers services to more than 90,000 members and is affiliated with the Medicaid, Child Health Plus and Family Health Plus programs.
