My mom was placed here after numerous strokes. Could not feed herself and could not walk. She was only there one day. We felt the need to stay with her the entire time. Needless to say we took her home and took care of her until her passing 4 months later. The place was clean, did not smell like a nursing home and the food and the employees were great. But if your loved one needs care to get to the restroom or feed theirself, this is not the place. The staff was wonderful - what little there was. They actually brought my mom a food tray and left it. I asked when will she be fed, they said when they can get to her. We fed her and moved her to the restroom each time she needed it. My mom kept trying to get out of the bed, so instead of putting a bar up on the bed, they lowered her bed all the say to to floor, "so in case she fell out, she would only roll onto the floor". As for the room itself, it was very small. They share rooms, my moms half was at the most 8X12. Visit it!

The best decision I ever made!

Last July 06, my father had a small stroke, then a heart attack. After months of rehab. he came home and unfortunately fell. It was decided he would have to go to a nursing home. Since I live in Florida, it was hard for me to help my mother find a place to put him on such short notice. Mom had mentioned friends of theirs that had good experiences with Hamilton Manor - so I told the social workers to try to place him there. God was looking after our little family, and found a bed for dad at Hamilton Manor. It is a small facility with only 40 beds. They have excellent staffing with employees who have worked there for years. This group took us into their family, and I have never been to a nursing home with such wonderful dedicated people in all my life. I don't know how they do it, but this facility doesn't even have the smell often associated with nursing homes. All the meals are wonderful! Complete with homemade soup and cakes, pies! I rate this facility 150%, and thank all you there!
