The Monarch School of New England is a comprehensive education and therapeutic year-round school for children with severe physical and developmental disabilities. The school can serve more than 45 students at three sites with a staff of over 60 teachers, therapists, education technicians, nurses and administrative staff. The school is located in Rochester, N.H. Its students come from more than 18 towns in southeastern New Hampshire and southern Maine. It accepts students with any disability when it has the space, staff and materials; district and parental input; individualized education program goals and objectives; and behavioral information and medical documentation. The Monarch School of New England offers a range of therapies, such as horticultural therapy, aquatics therapy, and hippotherapy and therapeutic riding. The school s older students attend vocational training in a building in downtown Rochester and learn a variety of skills in a work environment, such as folding, collating, shredding and making boxes.
