Founded in 1991, Robinson Correctional Center is a high-minimum security prison for adult males. The center features housing units that include dormitory rooms. It has a gymnasium, medical and segregation units, and academic, food service and vocation buildings. Robinson Correctional Center also features a training facility and warehouse. The center s clinical services department provides programs in parenting, domestic violence and substance abuse. It has a capacity of more than 50 inmates. In addition, the center has an educational department that maintains an enrollment of over 150 students and offers classes in adult basic education and cooperative work training. Robinson Correctional Center is a part of the Illinois Department of Corrections, which was established in 1970.
