- DemolitionIn 1991, following a successful 21 year-long career in his family’s business, Hal Hays established Hal Hays Construction, Inc. (HHCI), a heavy civil and construction firm with 1 bulldozer, 1 excavator, and 1 truck, and began work in forestry services, wildland firefighting, and ecosystem rehabilitation. After its incorporation in 2001, the firm expanded its service areas to include the federal, military, and government marketplace including Heavy and Civil Construction, Commercial and Institutional Buildings, Site Preparation and Demolition, Emergency Response, and Utility System Construction project services.
- FencingDemonstrating the complexity and challenge of HHCI’s work, many projects are unique, one-of-a-kind efforts, like the National Park Service’s Solar Alcatraz Island project to provide renewable energy for this world-famous historical landmark, or Edison’s Pedestrian Bridge, the first ever elevated pedestrian bridge in the city of Rosemead, to help link together Edison International’s corporate campus, or the Tactical Infrastructure program, where we designed and erected, under Presidential mandate, new International Border Fences in California and Arizona for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

- ExcavationThe volume of sand HHCI removed from the inlet channel was approximately 19,000 cubic yards. The objective of this project was to excavate the sand per the cross-sections. The excavated sand was then placed on the beaches north and south of the inlet, with the majority of the sand being placed to the south. The project areas where excavation was carried out were located east of Highway 101 Bridge.
