She went to elementary school, high school, graduate school locally and medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, completing a Family Medicine Residency at Kaiser Riverside in 1996. His research has included basal cell skin cancer, pheochromocytoma, recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, and basal cell nevus syndrome, and uremia in patients with chronic kidney disease. He has received national awards and fellowships for his work, including the American Chemical Society Scholars Program Award and Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans.
