I have been a client of Sixyht Street Pilates for almost three years and have been nothing but satisfied with my experience. Kristy and the staff have always been attentive and professional while giving one hell of a workout! Kristy is very accomodating, and IF my partner cannot make our session, Kristy ASKS me if I would loike a private. The choice is mine! As a business, the cancellation policy is right on and unlike other professional practices, Sixth Street Pilates is ALWAYS on time.(think physicians!!!). I have only good things to say about this business and I have always felt deserving of Kristy's time. Remember, if you want one hour of intense, high quality pilates...stop in at Sixth Street. It will be the best decision you ever made.
I love Sixth Street Pilates; the studio is by far the best around. The instructors are highly qualified and able to accommodate both the experienced as well as the novice clients. The atmosphere is very professional yet very inviting. Every session is specified uniquely to your personal needs. It offers individual, duets, and semi-private session to fit your requirements as well as your budget. I have been a client of Sixth Street Pilates for over two years and never have a problem with scheduling. This studio challenges even the most physically fit clients, I have never looked better.
I have taken Pilates all over (New York, San Francisco, Hawaii and Los Angeles) so I can say, for certain, that 6th Street is one of the best places to take classes. All their instructors are knowledgeable and encouraging. I worked with a personal trainers for years and I got more results working with Kristy with 3 days a week for 4 months than I ever did with my old trainers. They are totally professional, courteous and, very often, they go out of their way to accommodate clients. If for whatever reason someone can't understand rules or cancellation policies then maybe that person is just incapable of being a happy person regardless of what policies are in place. As for me, as long as I live in California, I'm sticking with SSP. If you want a workout, GO HERE!!
All that I have to say is that my wife spends several hours a week there and has a SMOKIN HOT BOD, so I have nothing bad to say about 6th ST. However, having to run my business myself, it seems the last writer has never been in a business where he/she needed to support themselves or a family. If customers weren't charged for late cancellations, then it would be like the airlines a few years back. People would book several flights and show up whenit was convenient. The airlines lost out, but so did the people that couldnt book the flight because the flight was overbooked. So, I'll have to say its a fairly standard business procedure.(and maybe the owner has FAVORITES because THEY don't cancel or no-show)I"ve been inside only a couple of times and the place was extremely clean and seemed very relaxing. Did I mention my wife has an even better body than when she first started......
if you live in riverside or close by, here is where you want to go for pilates instruction. a great studio with very knowledgeable instructors who will bring you along at a pace you can keep up with. after a few private sessions, i was paired up with two other people who were at the same level as i was and our group instruction started. our instruction was explained thoroughly, and demonstrated when necessary insuring a great workout twice a week. the equipment is top notch, and the studio is always clean and neat. they must be doing something right as they just doubled the size of their space. hats off to kristy and her staff, and congratulations on the expansion.
The level of instruction is what keeps me from giving this facility an even lower rating. There is high instructor turn over further damaging the rating. The owner clearly has favorites among her clients and gives them preference in scheduling classes, which are overpriced. The mat classes are offered as an affordable alternative are often canceled with less than 24 hour notice. Oddly enough, if her clients cancel a class with less than 24 hour notice they're penalized by having to pay for the canceled session. Also, if you happen to take duet or group classes, the owner forces you to pay for a private session or cancel the session outright if your partner(s) have scheduling conflicts and have to cancel. (Why she believes this is an appropriate business practice is beyond me.) I know of clients, myself included, who have been made to feel as if they aren't deserving of her time. Ultimately, there are better alternatives that are less expensive with an overall better environment.
