The Rifle Fire Protection District, also known as RFPD, offers emergency medical services. It works for the protection of lives and properties in Rifle in Colorado. Established in 1976, the district has a fleet of ambulances, engines, brush trucks and trailers. The Rifle Fire Protection District also performs confined space rescue operations. It administers a training program for the general public. The district additionally responds to hazardous material spill cases. The Rifle Fire Protection District manages a staff of more than 50 employees. It is a member of a multi-county mutual aid agreement and aiding departments. The district is dispatched by the Garfield County Emergency Communications Authority.
