General Info
Jeanne Seitler, Psy.D., received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Widener University in Chester, PA, and her Masters in Education from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Seitlers focus on individualized strengths-based approaches to both educational and clinical work led her to develop in her first career a secondary school without the concept of failure and later she co-developed a graduate internship training program in a large community mental health system in Philadelphia. There she worked to keep psychoanalytic perspectives alive by exposing graduate students to psychoanalytic and integrative ways of thinking along with the cognitive behavioral paradigms required by many of the participating graduate programs. . Over the past twenty years working as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Seitler has presented internationally her innovative approaches to understanding and working with individuals whose core self constructs are impacted by challenging life experience (e.g. relationship distress, panic disorder, gender identity disorders, dissociative identity disorder, brain injury and psychosis.) Jeanne Seitler is in private practice in Ridgewood, NJ and specializes in panic disorder, other anxiety and mood disorders, Emotionally Focused Therapy with couples, issues of gender and identity, and the therapeutic use of Sand Tray. She currently serves on the board of The International Society for Ethical Psychology and Psychiatry, ISEPP, and is Past President and current Endowment Chair of the Philadelphia Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology, PSPP (APA, Division 39, local chapter).
