Started by high school friends and Virginia natives Roby Williams and Elizabeth Sexton, SMOHK quickly rose to local prominence, being voted as one of Richmond's top 3 Best Local Barbecue Restaurants in the 2018 Style Weekly Readers' Choice poll. In 2019 we were humbled to be voted the winner of USA Today's 2019 Readers' Choice award for Best Brunswick Stew in Virginia!
