General Info
It is the mission of Piedmont Smokehouse to serve Authentic Virginia Style Barbecue and artisanal delights to the wonderful residents of Virginia's Piedmont and the greater Central Virginia regions. Piedmont Smokehouse is a family owned business located in the beautiful Piedmont region of Central Virginia. The chef and pitmaster has spent many years in the restaurant field in such locations as New York, Austin TX, Flagstaff AZ, Steamboat Springs CO and finally, in New Orleans Louisiana where he discovered his love for low-country and French Creole cuisine. We serve a wonderful variety of barbecued, smoked and artisanal products such as cold smoked sausages, cheeses and fresh belly, loin and buckboard bacon. The Holidays are a great time for dry cured rib roast, smoke roasted turkey or Black Forest ham. Sweets and spices also benefit from the cold smoking process. Sugars, exotic salts from around the world, Belgian & German chocolate, sweet cream butter and even Madagascar vanilla beans pick up the wonderful aromas and palate from such "sweet" woods as sugar maple. Chef Chris also loves to prepare cowboy beans, hush puppies, fried catfish, fried okra and fried green tomatoes as well as Hoppin' John, Maque Choux, deep fried sweet plantains and gumbo. A wide selection of seasonal cold smoked foods round out my enthusiasm for regional cuisines.

What a great business. I had them cater my rehearsal dinner prior to my wedding and the food and service was fantastic. We received so many compliments from my guest. I would have no problem of using them again for future events.
I stumbled on to Chris searching for BBQ Catering in the Richmond area 2 years ago and am I glad that I did. He has now catered two yearly events and it will be a third in 2014. If you want the BEST BBQ, Great sides and friendly service call Chris...

My family hired Chris and his crew for our yearly News Years Eve party when we decided that we wanted something a little different this time.
Boy are we happy we did!
We thought we were simply hiring a "BBQ guy" but what we ended up getting is a person that is passionate about food and insists on stellar customer service. Finally, someone who actually grasps the idea that they are in the SERVICE industry! And he does so with gusto.
Chris was not only agreeable and patient but has a wealth of culinary background that allowed my family to sample some of the best Southern food we have ever had. Yes, besides Chris' high standard of service, the food is to die for.
He even brought surprise side dishes just because he wanted us to try a dish that we were unfamiliar with.
We are waiting for an excuse to hire him again.
