- Business DisputesIn 1988 Meade Spotts identified a need in Richmond's legal market for a small to mid-sized firm focused on the representation of businesses. At the time, Spotts was swamped with corporate transactional work and was referring out all business litigation. Hugh Fain was a commercial litigator who knew Spotts well. A series of discussions between the two led to a joinder of forces and in 1992 Spotts and Fain united with a shared vision: to build a full-service business law firm providing top quality legal representation at fair rates.
