- Emergency Care“I can’t really begin to express how thankful I am for the caring, considerate, professional staff who administered my husband’s paracentesis; primarily Stephanie Cowan, but also Callie Reger, and assistants Lyn and Robin. My husband recently passed away, but I am positive that I have Stephanie to thank for saving his life at least twice earlier in the year — once, when he had had a heart attack, and her sharp eye noted the symptoms, and she sent us straight to the Emergency Department after his paracentesis. The second time was during a hospital stay, when he’d been checked in for a minor surgery. The doctor following his case — not his regular physician — wasn’t paying close attention, and if Stephanie hadn’t put a bug in my ear about it, he would have sent him home. Instead, he was moved to the ICU. I am so grateful for every extra minute I had with him. It’s a debt I can never repay.”
