Doofers was originally built in 1973 as a tavern by a man named Walt Griffin. The original name of the tavern was called Walts Griff-Ins. In 1974 Walt sold the tavern to Bob Lenhart who held a contest drawing names out of a hat as to what the name of the tavern would be. Bob's three year old daughter was running around the house saying the name Doofers so he decided to put the name into the drawing as well. With the luck of the draw that was the name that was picked & the name Doofers has stuck ever since. On June 1st, 1982 Gus Routos purchased Doofers Bar & Grill & has been the owner/operator for the last 35 years. When Gus became the owner of Doofer's it was just a simple tavern but he saw potential for more & decided to rebuild it as a Bar & Grill. In May of 2000 the current Doofers Bar & Grill was built & in 2007 went through a second expansion to increase capacity. We offer 12 types of beer on tap & 9 types in a bottle/can.
