- Skin CancerPhotodynamic Therapy (PDT) incorporates a topical medication (Levulan) that activates when combined with a specific wavelength of light energy (Blue Light). These in combination are extremely effective in destroying pre-cancerous skin cells as well as certain types of skin cancer. It also improves sun-related damage including skin roughness, discoloration and sunspots. PDT is highly effective, but patients should avoid all direct sun exposure for 48 hours post-treatment.
