  We are pleased to announce that Dr. Lamerson is now Board Certified in Mohs Micrographic Surgery!  This new Board Certification was established in October, 2021 through the American Board of Dermatology and currently there are only a small number of Mohs surgeons in Northern Nevada with this certification.  Dr. Lamerson has performed thousands of Mohs procedures over the last 20 years and is also a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery.

• Skin Cancer
  Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) incorporates a topical medication (Levulan) that activates when combined with a specific wavelength of light energy (Blue Light). These in combination are extremely effective in destroying pre-cancerous skin cells as well as certain types of skin cancer. It also improves sun-related damage including skin roughness, discoloration and sunspots. PDT is highly effective, but patients should avoid all direct sun exposure for 48 hours post-treatment.

• Acne Treatment
  The Blue Light is a non-invasive, FDA approved acne treatment by emitting wavelengths of light that kill acne-causing bacteria. Photodynamic therapy is blue light with a pretreatment of levulan. This procedure treats precancers, actinic keratosis and can be used to treat severe cases of acne.
