Established in 1921, the Rehoboth Beach Patrol is one of the leading beach patrols in the United States. It maintains an operational emergency medical unit and administrative offices. The patrol is a department of the city of Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. The Rehoboth Beach Patrol utilizes frequency modulation portable radios that are linked to the beach patrol communications center. The patrol is staffed with more than 50 full-time seasonal lifeguards. Rehoboth Beach Patrol offers online safety tips. Its Junior Lifeguard Program includes introduction to water safety, first aid and surf rescue techniques. The patrol s program engages participants in various aerobic and anaerobic activities.
