Founded in 1887, the YMCA East Valley is a nonprofit organization with one of its locations in Hanford, Calif. It provides programs in social-emotional, cognitive, physical, language, and nutrition and child health. The organization conducts lessons on character development, trustworthiness, fairness, responsibility and citizenship topics. It also organizes several leisure activities that include swimming, arts and crafts, dance shows, sports and games. The YMCA East Valley s fitness program includes rehabilitative and arthritis aquatics and multilevel aerobic classes, including low- and high- impact and step aerobics. It also organizes workshops on personal safety and survival and rescue skills development. The YMCA East Valley s sports program include basketball, volleyball and wiffleball for adults.
