The Department of Child Support Services, operated by Shasta County in California, is a local child support enforcement agency. It collects and disburses child support payments of the city. The agency provides the Child-Support Enforcement Program, which is authorized under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act. The program offers services to assist parents in their mutual obligation to financially support and provide health insurance for their children. The Department of Child Support Services assists in establishing, modifying and enforcing a court order to pay child support. It also collects and distributes child and spousal support payments. The agency enforces medical and family support orders.
