Established in 1973, Self-Help Home Improvement Project is a private nonprofit organization. It has helped with the housing needs of over 28,000 households in the Shasta, Trinity and Tehama counties in California. The organization offers a home energy assistance program for low-income families. Self-Help Home Improvement Project also provides utility assistance and repair services. It has nearly 20 employees and has been operational for more than 30 years. The organization is located in Redding, Calif.
